Google refusing to index your website and can’t figure out why? Here’s a couple of methods you can try with your website to try and convince Google to index your website. Once indexed you will then be able to experience the benefits of having PageRank for your website. Whether the benefits be more sales or revenue from advertisement, you will definitely feel better once Google has indexed your website.

The first step you should take is to be patient. If your website is new then it will take much longer to optimise than it would with an older website. People think by creating lots of content and adding it to their website then Google will eventually index their website, this is not the case. Google has no set time period to when it will index websites, by adding more content you will only be wasting your time because Google will only retrieve the last thing added, due to it being Googles first visit.

The second step you should ensure you take is to find a well ranked website and try to get a backlink. With a backlink Google will find you website much faster. This is because the website you are linking from will be checked frequently for new content, and by finding your newly added link it will follow it to your website. Once Google has noticed your website has no PageRank it will index your website, giving you the start you need to optimise your website for SEO.

So remember, if you are struggling in getting your website cached, be patient and don’t be afraid to talk to other webmasters, some may be kinder than others.

After one unsuccessful attempt at challenging big names like Google you would think Microsoft would throw in the towel, this however is not the case.

Microsoft are planning on spending millions of pounds on promoting its search engine (Bling) with a number of TV adverts through next week to advertise Bing in the UK . This is to help them compete against “Goliath”, aka Google, who are reported to have a massive market share of 90%, whilst Bing a measly 3%.

Microsoft recognise the challenge they are creating for themselves,  President of Consumer and Online at Microsoft UK Ashley Highfield said “This is a big moment — we are taking out our slingshots and taking on Goliath,” but this doesn’t mean it is impossible. Success in the U.S proves there’s a chance it could work, but this can only work if the advertisement campaign works its magic on the public.
